When Terry and Leslie worked at the organic sourdough bakery in Northern Michigan, Terry was a driver, mixer, loafer (person who shapes the loaves of bread), and eventually the head baker. Leslie made coffee, handled mail orders, baked scones and cookies, worked the front counter, and most importantly, fed the starter! Customers watched the bakers work. Leslie would say to them "This is the place where loafing is hard work!"
